I made Mario Bros, because when  I was little i played a lot of videogames of him and he is my favorite caracter.

Block 3 Contemporary Art

Contemporary Art 

 

This bimester we say Contemporary Art that is an art produced by artists that are living today, and they often reflect and comment on modarn today society. The art challenges the viewer.

 

Contemporary Art started around the 1960's or 1970's.

 

In this art the viewers are challenged to think if a piece of art is challenging or interesting instead of saying if it's good or pleasing.

 

 

 

 



Abstraction of my senses

 

We covered our eyes and smelled and ate different kinds of food. Finally we create an abstract composition with pastel on paper craft imaginating the food we smelled and ate.

I choose this colors and forms because I think they represent the things I smelled and ate.

Fibonacci Numbers Sculpture

The sequence of  Fibonacci Numbers are:
1-1-2-3-5-8-13-21-34-55-89...

In my sculpture I represent the Fibonacci numbers in the distance between every stick and in the size they have.

In second bimester we saw:

•  The Geometrical trend:  his main characteristic is the use of geometrical shapes and simplified visual language.
• Russian Constructivism: Is combined by the dynamism of futurism and the geometry of cubism.
• Bauhaus: Used plain and primary colors. Was focused on subjects, etc.
• Organic Sculpture: Is characterized by the use of rounded or wavy abstract forms on what one find in nature.
• Lyrical Abstraction: It is related to the ideas of the first German Expressionism. It rejects the objective of representing something real.
• Abstract Expressionism: It involves the personal abstraction of the artist. The artist were inspired by automatism of surrealism.
